About Psychological Support Organization

Psychological Support Organization (P.S.O.) is a non-governmental organisation working in the field of psychosocial wellbeing and mental health. The organisation was registered at the District Administration Office, Nuwakot, on 2079/07/21 BS.

Since its establishment, the organisation has been working to promote psychosocial support and mental wellbeing through various programs. Its activities include providing mental health and psychosocial support services, conducting workshops and training programs, strengthening the capacity of individuals and communities, and providing individual counselling and psychosocial support.

To promote mental wellbeing through counselling, training, research and advocacy, working hand in hand with communities and local institutions.

Objectives

What we set out to do

To contribute to the promotion and development of psychology and its related fields.

To conduct studies and research on counselling, psychosocial support and related mental health issues.

To conduct specialised education and training programs related to mental health, counselling and psychosocial support.

To coordinate and facilitate the integration of mental health and psychosocial counselling into basic health services — a fundamental right of citizens — and to support local health institutions in providing accessible, quality services.

To work in and promote various fields of psychology, from school and family psychology to health psychology and psychology related to sexual and gender minorities.

To provide emergency mental health services and organise mental health camps, workshops, seminars, meetings and awareness programs for individuals and communities.
